Get to Know Us a Bit Better
Nathaniel House, Inc. is composed of a partnership between Sandye Kidd and Dawne DeBoard. Sandye is a Registered Nurse, and Dawne is a Health Care Administrator. The dynamic duo began in 1997 when they worked for a home health agency. Through their work together, the pair discovered two common goals, the first is treating everyone with respect and kindness and the second is to do the best job that can be done.
At this time, Nathaniel House, Inc. operates 9 Staffed Residences and oversees 2 Family Home Providers. We also provide Day Training, Community Access, Community Living Supports, Personal Assistance and Respite.
MISSION STATEMENT
The company shall support empowerment and informed decision-making so that program participants have information, experience or support to: choose personal goals, choose where and with whom they live, choose where they work, choose how to use their free time, and choose their daily routine. NH, Inc. will also assist people to remain in contact with their existing support networks and to create new ones. All program participants and their representatives will be responded to with respect, non-stigmatizing language and in confidence. NHI will promote dignity and self-worth. Each program participant will be offered trainings to enhance his or her abilities, valued roles and community inclusion.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Nathaniel House, Inc. provides the following services with the highest standards in quality to Supports for Community Living and Michelle P. Waiver Recipients:
Day Training is a service provided to help integrate program participants into the community. This includes skill development, such as, money management, self-advocacy, adaptive social skill, communication, and job training.
24 hour Residential Supervision, which includes training and assistance with daily living needs. There are no more than 3 individuals living in a home that receive publically-funded supports. The home is considered their home and the staff are there for support.
Family Home Provider/Adult Foster Care, is a service provided in the home of a care-giver. 24-hour supervision, training and assistance is provided for a defined amount of time.
Community Access is utilized to assist in developing meaningful social and leisure activities with various community partnership organizations.
Community Living Supports is a service provided to individuals in their own home, where staff provides training and support to help them remain in their homes.
Personal Assistance Services are provided for clients who live in their own homes who need assistance with daily activities; such as dressing, bathing, etc.
Respite Care and Supervision is for program participants who live with their families or in a FHP/AFP for the temporary relief for the caregivers.
Habilitation Services consists of psychology services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and behavior supports.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
All staff are thoroughly trained prior to working with any program participant.
Trainings are completed in-person and through the College of Direct Supports web site. Phase 1 trainings will be completed prior to working independently. Phase II trainings will be completed within a 6 months of hire.
All staff are also trained concerning the company’s mission and values and what their role is in upholding the mission and values. NHI has very high expectations for all employed staff.
